Looking for marmots at The Marmot Path

6/11/2018

They are small, cute and sometimes quite loud: marmots.
The secret national animal of South Tyrol is awaiting you during a thrilling hike for the whole family. The hike starts in Chienes/Corti at 1600 m asl. After hiking for about an hour you will reach the Moarhofalm mountain hut where you can enjoy a bite to eat. Then you can proceed to the „Grünbachalm“ (1943 m asl). I have already spotted marmots a couple of times there myself.
Anyone who still hasn’t had enough can keep walking to the „Upper Grünbachalm“ (2114 m asl). And the super fit ones among you can then proceed to the Putzenhöhe (2441 m asl). The breath-taking view of the Alps in the North and the Dolomites in the South is worth all the physical efforts.

Tip: It’s best to do the hike during the week as it can be quite crowded on weekends.
