What do we do for this? The list is long, but let’s start:

1. Own heat production with state-of-the-art wood chip heating system
The hotel’s heating is CO₂-neutral, produced by an in-house wood chip system with heat recovery, powered by local damaged wood – independent and resource-saving.

2. Electricity from solar and hydropower
Our photovoltaic systems with 200 kW capacity generate environmentally friendly solar power. Additionally, our local hydropower plant in Kiens supplies the hotel with sustainable green electricity.

3. Promotion of longer stays
Longer stays reduce arrivals and departures as well as resource consumption – a conscious contribution to sustainability. That’s why you save at Hotel Pustertalerhof when booking longer stays.

4. Refillable care products
In our bathrooms, we use an exclusive in-house courtesy line in refillable dispensers. This avoids unnecessary single-use packaging and noticeably reduces plastic consumption – without compromising on quality and comfort.

5. Optimal connection to public transport
From our hotel in Kiens, you can explore South Tyrol conveniently by bus and train. With our free GuestPass, you can even travel free of charge throughout South Tyrol. We also offer a hotel shuttle to the Ehrenburg/Kiens train station.

6. E-mobility
Two paid charging stations are available on our hotel parking lot for guests with electric cars – powered by green electricity.

7. Local products & short delivery routes
Fresh foods like eggs, butter, and honey come directly from regional farmers. Regionality guarantees quality, supports local producers, and shortens delivery routes – small cycles are good for everyone.

8. Vegetarian and vegan – more often, gladly
We place great value on a balanced vegetarian cuisine with daily vegetarian options. Weekly, we also offer vegan alternatives several times. Whether vegetarian or vegan – it always tastes delicious with us!

9. Regional investments
Renovations are carried out exclusively with local craftsmen to strengthen the regional economy and avoid long transport routes.

10. Pesticide-free green spaces for people and nature
Our natural garden is completely maintained without pesticides and offers habitat for bees, insects, and other beneficial species. This promotes biodiversity and protects the health of people and the environment.
Since 1995, we have set a sign with the first biological natural swimming pond in the Pusteral Valley – completely without chemical additives, with pure mountain spring water and natural regeneration.

11. Green roofs
Our flat roofs above the restaurant La Terrazza and the Alpine Loft Pool are greened. They ensure a pleasant indoor climate and improve the outdoor climate – a natural contribution to the environment and well-being.


HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US?

Room cleaning
We clean your room daily – if you want to skip a day, just hang the red sign on the door. This helps save water and electricity.

Towels
Washing towels consumes a lot of electricity and water. Hang your towels on the hook to use them again, if they lie on the shower floor, we replace them. This way, you actively help to save important ressources.

Bath sandals
Please bring your own bath sandals from home. This helps reduce waste and supports sustainability. Thank you very much!

Together against food waste
Food is precious. Please take smaller portions at the buffet more often instead of taking everything at once. This way, less is left over and together we avoid food waste.
